30 MWs installed

NH Solar Garden, a Northeast based company that provides services to the growing economic, social, and health issues through the use of solar energy and sustainable development.

NHSG was created to provide common sense solutions to the challenges that we face on a local and global level. It was the first company in New Hampshire to offer group net metering, which allows off-site electricity users to benefit from energy created from a solar garden. Andrew Kellar, a businessman who focuses on alternative energy, is the founder and partner with his Chief Strategy Officer, Carrie Kellar.

Who we are

Andrew, Founder, a surfer of 40 years and long-term resident of the Northeast, has been interested in alternative energy for decades. Co-founder of the Green Alliance, he launched Simply Green Biofuels. He is also a former entrepreneur-in-residence at the University of New Hampshire and past Mel King fellow at MIT. During his 12 years in the solar industry, he has been involved in developing over 300 MWs of Community Solar projects.

We are only as Strong as our Mentors

Giunta_Portrait2.jpg

Tony Giunta, PG

For the past 25 years, Mr. Giunta has applied his skills to protect our environment. Having spent 15 of those years with the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services, he managed complex clean-up projects dealing with both hazardous and petroleum contaminated soils and groundwater. He also managed the Department’s drinking water program and served as the Director of the Waste Management Division where he had direct responsibility for the State’s Superfund, Brownfield, Petroleum, Solid Waste, and Statewide Environmental Emergency Response programs. Mr. Giunta left the Department in 2007 to become President and CEO of American Energy Independence Company-a liquid fuel renewable energy company-and served in that capacity until joining the Nobis Group in 2014.

Mr. Giunta has also had a successful political career having served in numerous elected positions including city councilor representing Ward I and was elected four times as Mayor of the City of Franklin, NH.In his current role as Director of Project Development, he has successfully combined his formal science education with “outside the box” entrepreneurial instincts, extensive government regulatory experience, and natural people skills to assemble the most effective professional teams across broad spectrums to successfully complete clients’ complex engineering, environmental, and energy related projects.

Scott Komisarek

As a lifelong investor in people, land and real estate developer, Mr. Komisarek has always created with a key quality that is undeniable; sustainable growth drives innovation.

For many years Mr. Komisarek was involved in a successful family business where his love for construction began and brought him toward the development of land and real estate.  His love for the planet he calls home drove him to look at ways to protect our Earth.  From 55+ communities that have a strong community farming framework, to community solar for their power needs to successfully developing a new village district in his home town to allow for a future town to evolve into a place base strongly in community.

Mr. Komisarek was an early-stage investor in NHSG and without his commitment to supporting the New Hampshire solar industry, there would be one less company working hard to make the State a better place to live.

Currently living outside of Savana GA, he spends his time creating a new home with his lovely wife, Amy.  Paddling on the back channels of Skidaway Island and always looking to support the next community solar project.

Clay Mitchell, Esq. Ph.D

For the last 20 years, Dr. Mitchell has been developing his experience across many sustainable disciplines, including land use and planning, municipal zoning law, master plan development, energy planning, local, State & regional energy policy outreach & development and most notably the founder of Revolution Energy, the first 3rd party solar ownership group in New Hampshire to successfully complete a municipal and educational PPA. And when solar installation cost were over $10 per watt!

In 2013, Dr. Mitchell fulfilled one of his lifelong dreams to become an educator.  With over 4 MWs of installed solar under his belt, he took to the classroom and began his role at the University of New Hampshire as an Adjunct Faculty member and created the sustainability program with classes ranging from Community & Environmental planning to International Topics in Energy to Foundations for Sustainable Living in New England.

At this point in his successful sustainable energy career, Dr. Mitchell continues to teach at UNH, provide land use & energy consulting services and most of all enjoy his time traveling with his family around the USA and most recently crossing over the Atlantic.
